This instrument is suitable for measuring the thermal diffusivity and thermal conductivity of high thermal conductivity solid materials, such as metals, graphite, etc., in accordance with the national standard GB/T 22588-2008 “Flash Method for Measuring Thermal Diffusivity or Thermal Conductivity” and ASTM E 1461–2001 “Flash Method for Determining Thermal Diffusivity Test Method”.
Test principle: Thin samples are irradiated by high-intensity short-time energy pulses. The front side of the sample absorbs the pulse energy to increase the back temperature. The back temperature change is recorded. The time required for the back temperature of the sample to rise to half of the maximum value after receiving the light pulse irradiation (also called the half-heating time) is used to quickly calculate its thermal diffusivity α and thermal conductivity l using a computer through a special mathematical model.
